This #WeWinWednesday is highlighting a fellow Brooklynite, Cindy S. Johnson. Mrs. Johnson is an author, columnist at the online newspaper – The Haitian Times, and a Haitian culture ambassador. She is no stranger to writing books. She recently published her first children’s book “Haiti Is” and it has been buzzing all around town!
This colorful and expressive book was written to celebrate the beautiful legacy of Mrs. Johnson’s late grandmother. She wanted this book to be a memento of her childhood memories of Haiti, while also being a way to give back to her country. I love that during the first release year of “Haiti Is” ALL proceeds will go to two organizations (Anseye Pou Ayiti and Yspaniola) who proudly support the needs of the Haitian people.
I love how Mrs. Johnson expressed herself, “Writing is a gift, and I never take it for granted. I am truly grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to do something I love. My name, "Cindy," actually means "bringer of light." I bring to light what's hidden. I inspire, encourage, and empower others to know better and do better.”
When you do what you love, it truly opens doors not just for yourself but for others as well.
Joyous living to you all,
